Hello I’m Helen. I love a good repair! Or even better a beautiful one. I’m no repair ninja but I do my best.

Sewing, gardening, baking, my cats, kids and husband also appear on my list of “things I like” – obviously not in that order. I also like an interesting gin, Peroni beer (and lots of other Italian stuff), halloumi, lemon-stuffed olives as well as holidays, hugs and silly laughter, especially the type that gives you hiccups.

I got into repairing in 2015 when our local Repair Cafe started up. A friend thought I might sew (he’d seen me knitting) and asked if I’d be interested. It was the start of something really fantastic in my life. Not only did it get me back into garment sewing after a long break, I also discovered the joy of getting something back on its feet, usable and if possible just as good, if not better than new.
