Ripped out Pyjama Buttons

These PJs just don’t know when to give up! This reinforcement of the fabric behind the buttons really doesn’t show due to the fairly busy fabric, especially once done up – you just see a small edge of the patch. The buttons had pulled holes in the rather delicate cotton.

I couldn’t pattern match exactly as I was using fabric saved from the worn out trouser top so I just used areas that looked fairly similar. I reinforced underneath with a little scrap of iron-on interfacing and then just stitched a patch on the top with the edges folded in. Once the buttons were put back on the patches weren’t very noticeable at all.

You could easily do this repair without a sewing machine.
